That’s how my conversations with Mum often start. This week is no exception.
Mum has an old laptop of mine, which had been set up for ‘minimum fuss usage’ – i.e. switch on, hit dial, download email, then disconnect. Nothing complicated. No fuss. Sunday she called (left a message) to tell me she’s getting error 756 [...]

My ‘day-to-day’ DVD player is on its last legs. It only occassionally spits out the disks after they’ve been played – not ideal. So, Amazon Prime to the rescue for a next day delivery of the new version. In the process of removing the old one, I had to laugh at the sheer number of [...]
New gadgets?

I’m seriously thinking about getting a new phone. My HTC Tytn ii is getting old. It still works well, but needs a makeover…an extreme one. A year of abuse, being dumped into a cluttered handbag, sports bag or into the cradle in the car has done the fascia no good at all. With an 18 [...]
I bought a new TV this week – not a large TV for the lounge, but a small one for the bedroom. I looked at reviews, I read user comments and in the end it came down to three models – a Sharp, an LG and a Samsung.
I went for the Samsung Le19R86. Here’s the [...]

We’re all trying to save money in the run up to Christmas – but because of the credit crunch it’s a bigger issue than normal. Many of our favourite radio and TV presenters have picked up on this issue – Chris Evans’ radio show has the “Don’t Cancel Christmas” slot, for example. And various breakfast TV [...]

A couple of weeks ago, I got an early Christmas present (one, that will be wrapped up again :0) before the big day)…a new Nano and a Nike+ gizmo for in my shoe. The idea is to get me running again. I still can’t run outside, expecially not at this time of year, so I’m [...]

I hadn’t played/used either for a while and at the weekend I did quite a bit. Baseball is always my least favourite thing, because it hurts my arm - I don’t know why! I played a few games and managed to win some of them, but my arm is really sore today (and yesterday). If you’d have said to [...]

Anticipating seeing someone. I have to pick someone special up from the airport later.
Pinks in bloom in my garden. Recently planted, the pinks are starting to show their colours, release their perfume and decorate my previously dull garden.
Ah, the joys of a ‘Multipoint’ headset! Carrying two mobile phones just got a lot less painful thanks [...]

OK so I’m hooked…
While waiting for the washing machine to finish last night I decided to play one song…40 mins later my guest arrived and the washing machine had finished but I was still playing. I’ve moved on in the songs now, but I still don’t think I’ll ever be able to compete in the [...]

How much fun?
I never thought a video game would get so many people up and laughing (or sweating) as this one does. We’ve played it with people as young as 5, right up to people into their 60s. It’s fantastic. Whether you’re tee’ing off for 9-holes or having a boxing match, it gets everyone’s attention.
Since [...]
